University of Utah Science & Engineering Fair

The University of Utah Science and Engineering Fair is open to students in grades 5-12 in Canyons, Granite, Murray, Salt Lake, Tooele, Park City, and South Summit School Districts including Home, Private and Charter Schools that fall in those boundaries and students from the Salt Lake Catholic Diocese.

Each year, USEF works with students, their teachers, and their parents to foster a love for STEM.

USEF’s mentor matching program pairs students with experts in their field of interest, so that they can explore a topic with breadth, depth, and scientific accuracy. Students come up with interesting and innovative science projects on topics ranging from animal sciences to engineering and medicine.

Projects are evaluated by volunteer judges with expertise in the subject matter. Senior division winners (grades 9-12) are eligible to compete in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), the world’s largest pre-college science fair.
